An amazing automatic effect about magical coincidences, where two spectators are amazed by their mutual sympathy and romantic affinity.
This is an intriguing and utterly self-working card magic effect, where a stunning coincidence unfolds despite the wide range of free choices made by two spectators.
The magician invites two participants to assist with the experiment – ideally a couple, or at least two people who share a strong affinity. After introducing a deck of cards, the performer gives it a shuffle and allows both participants to cut and complete the cut. To test the strength of their mutual affinity, the magician splits the deck into two halves and lets the participants freely choose which one to use, discarding the other. He then splits the selected pile in half once more, and again the participants make a free choice. The unused half is added to the discard pile. The magician repeats the process: he deals the remaining pile into two parts and invites them to choose again – always freely, without any restriction or ambiguity.
He repeats this action one final time, and the two participants indicate the last remaining packet. One of them then shuffles these few cards, and the other freely selects one, this will be the chosen card. Its only twin – the card with the same value and color – will be revealed in a surprising way.
The other spectator will add up the values of the two remaining cards, resulting in a number. If desired, the illusionist can also show everyone that, even if they had only chosen the opposite pile at the end, the result would have been very different! Incredibly, their true affinity as a couple will be revealed by counting exactly that number of cards from the top of the deck – magically arriving at the selected twin!
